Today is extremely hot, 100° here in the Pacific Northwest, so I thought I would hand out some great cool summer coffee recipes.
Adult Mocha Shake
This drink is for adults. You will need the following ingredients:
- 1 cup coffee-flavored liquer
- 1 cup milk, 2% is okay
- 4 scoops chocolate ice cream
- Place all the ingredients in blender jar; cover. Blend 30 seconds or until desired consistency.
- Pour half into 2 glasses and sit back and enjoy.
Iced Latte
This drink sounds like a good one for a mid-afternoon drink on a day like today.
- 1 cup (8 oz.) club soda
- 1/2 cup vanilla syrup
- 1 cup non-fat powdered milk
- 1/4 cup dark roast coffee (Lavazza Dark Roast?)
- Place all ingredients in blender jar; cover. Blend until smooth.
- Add ice until covered with liquid. Blend again.
Serves: 2
Mango Cooler
This cooler sounds like it would be a bit filling as well as cool. Bet the “kids” would sure like this one as well.
You can double this recipe by doing the recipe twice. Large chunks of mango may take longer in the blender.
Sorry this one doesn’t have coffee in it, but thought a great cooler for the whole family.
- 1/2 cup pineapple juice
- 1 mango, peeled and cut in chunks
- 2 cups ice cubes
- Place all ingredients in blender jar; cover.
- Blend for 1 minute or until desired consistency.
Serves: 2 or 4
Thai Iced Coffee
- Coffee – Your choice or Dark Roast
- 2 teaspoons cardamom, ground
- 4 tablespons sugar
- 4 tablespoons heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- Blend the cardamom into the coffee grounds for at least four cups of coffee before brewing your coffee as you are use to.
- Add the sugar and almond extract to the hot coffee and stir.
- Refrigerate until fully chilled. Serve in a tall glass over crushed ice. Add a spoon of cream to each glass, just before serving. Serves 4.
Okay here is another coffee drink that is great for an after dinner drink.

I have been told by suppliers that they are having a hard time getting the higher end espresso machines. It seems these companies are having a hard time getting the automatic and super automatic machines done to there high expectations and are not releasing them until they meet these expectations.

Nesco Coffee Grinder

Today, we are introducing the Nesco coffee grinder model BG-88PR. This is a professional burr grinder that delivers the consistently even grind and lower heat generation that ensure the maximum flavor retention of your coffee. You can select 17 grind settings from espresso to French press, which are marked fine to course. Numbers 1 to 3 are good for espresso while 4-6 for filtered coffee makers, 7-9 for percolators and 10 and above for French press. The hopper holds 8.8 ounces, which has easy to read cup measurements. The adjustable timer allows you to grind the exact amount for 2 to 12 cups of coffee. Remember that 12 cups of espresso will take more time than, for instance, the filtered size grind.
