Redesigned Rancilio Silvia V3 Espresso Machine
Controls of the Redesigned Rancilio Silvia V3 Espresso Machine
All the controls for the Rancilio Silvia are located on the face of the machine. The switch in the front-center, lights up when you are powering up. The large lamp next to it comes on when power is being sent to the heating element. The three switches on left side of the Silvia are: top, the brewing switch, which starts the brewing cycle; middle, the hot water switch. When you open the steam valve on the right, water is dispersed through the steam wand. Be sure to have a container ready. The bottom switch turns on the steam function by raising the temperature in the boiler. The Silvia has noted outstanding steaming power in under two minutes at 15 BAR, 217 psi of pressure. After enhanced frothing, the smooth chrome surface of the steam wand wipes clean with a damp towel. When you turn the brewing switch off a 3-way valve instantly relieves the brewing pressure. In addition, the Silvia is equipped with three thermostats, mounted right on the boiler. One maintains proper brewing temperature, the second controls a higher temperature for creating steam and the third is a safety device. If for some reason the Silvia overheats, the thermostat automatically turns off the heating element. This can be easily reset. The Silvia comes with a solid plastic handled heavy-duty chrome plated brass portafilter and two 58mm pressed stainless steel filter baskets: a single shot and double shot version. An espresso pod conversion is also available. Care for your car? Care for your commercial quality Rancilio Silvia.
It sounds like you’re creating problems yourself by trying to solve this issue instead of looking at why their is a problem in the first place
I was just talking with my friend about this last week at dinner . Don’t remember how in the world we got on the topic really, they brought it up. I do remember eating a excellent steak salad with cranberries on it. I digress…
So not really on the same topic as your post, but I found this today and I just can’t resist sharing. Mrs. Agathe’s dishwasher quit working so she called a repairman. Since she had to go to work the next day, she told him, “I’ll leave the key under the mat. Fix the dishwasher, leave the bill on the counter, and I’ll mail you the check. Oh, and by the way…don’t worry about my Doberman. He won’t bother you. But, whatever you do, do NOT under ANY circumstances talk to my parrot!” When the repairman arrived at Mrs. Agathe’s apartment the next day, he discovered the biggest and meanest looking Doberman he had ever seen. But just as she had said, the dog simply laid there on the carpet, watching the repairman go about his business. However, the whole time the parrot drove him nuts with his incessant cursing, yelling and name-calling. Finally the repairman couldn’t contain himself any longer and yelled, “Shut up, you stupid ugly bird!” To which the parrot replied, “Get him, Spike!”

Butler,
I am including one of my blogs from some time ago. I think this will help you understand more about the sense of smell.
I just talked to a person who doesn’t like or dislike the smell of coffee no matter what flavor it is supposed to be. At the same time, his wife loves the smell of certain coffees and not others. How come?
The easiest way to explain this without too many scientific words is the olfactory organ is a membranous organ of chemical sense in the nasal cavity. It receives stimuli interpreted as odors from solid and liquid substances in low dilution. Because everyone has a different chemical makeup they perceive odors according to that personal chemical makeup, thus each perception of odors is different. Some people have a high sensitive sense of smell. Those considered with a high sense of smell often become coffee tasters, wine connoisseurs or other kinds of food tasters. So, if your sense of smell doesn’t help enhance the taste of something, don’t worry about it; and it’s not your fault. Just enjoy the smells you like.
I have this in the shop: http://www.coffeemakersshop.com. The grinder to use with this machine is the Rancilio Rocky.

This is a wordpress platform. I designed it and then redesigned it. Glad you like it. The first front page had coffee rings on the table and a few drips around. Since I don’t care for drips on my table home, I decided to clean the table. I think leaves a better mood to view.
