Rachel Ray tea kettles make a splash of color for any kitchen with fun and functionality! The Rachael Ray 2 quart tea kettles are bold, fun and unique which is nothing new when it comes to Ray’s products. I really like her style and the comfortable handle with its stainless steel lid that complements the compact tea kettle shape and is large enough to easily fill with water. The exterior of the tea kettle is porcelain on stainless steel and it has an almost glossy look. It’s also easy to clean. When the water comes to a full boil it will even whistle to alert you just like the older stove tea kettles.
The button on the handle opens the cap over the spout. It also guides the hand to hold the handle so that when you pour out the hot water you have control of the pouring and you will not get the hot steam near your hand. The spout is said to be a little small so slow pour the water out slowly and you shouldn’t have any problems. Also, do not fill the kettle with more than 2 quarts of water. Those rating this Rachael Ray tea kettle rated it from a 2 for the small spout that didn’t allow them to pour the water at the speed they liked. Others rated it a 5 because they felt pouring the water slowly was not a problem and have not had any problems with this stove top tea kettle. Hamilton Beach 10 Cup Stainless Steel Kettle
Yesterday I talked about the Red stainless steel kettle. Today is a return of the same product, but in the plain stainless steel finish. This is perfect for the person who wants all stainless steel appliances in there kitchen. Stainless steel is the only metal that does not leach particles into your water, tea or coffee. This 10 cup kettle is great for any use you want, small amount or large amount of water. Fills easily, just lift the kettle off the base, open top lid and fill with water. In addition, the Hamilton Beach 10 cup stainless steel kettle features a water level window and a grooved handle that creates a balance in your hand while pouring. Its no-drip spout makes it drip-free. And, it has room for the cord in the base to keep the counter clutter free.
Hamilton Beach 10 Cup Stainless Steel Red Kettle
I thought I would write about this Hamilton Beach stainless steel red kettle because it is my favorite. Number one reason is because it is stainless steel. Stainless steel is the only metal that does not leach particles into your water, tea or coffee. This ten cup is a great size. When you want a lot of hot water, it can handle it. However, you can fill it as little as you need and it will heat it faster than a microwave… And, it is safer than a stove top tea kettle – no hot burner (the element is concealed in bottom of kettle) and no boiling dry (the tea kettle has an automatic shut off when the water gets close to empty).
When you fill this electric kettle with water there is a water level window that tells you how many cups are in the kettle so you can fill it to just the amount you want. The opening at the top is large enough to get water into the kettle with ease. The handle has a grooved part on the underside that creates a comfortable balance when you pick up the kettle. The spout is a non-drip spout making it spill free. It also has a lighted on and off switch right under the water level window. Last, but for me, not least is its color. I love bright colors in my kitchen. They perk me up “no pun intended here” while I’m cooking or working in the kitchen. Oh yes, the base of this Hamilton Beach 10 cup stainless steel kettle keeps the cord inside when not in use and leaves the counter uncluttered.

What Happened to Coffee in America?
What happened to coffee in America was the result of what happened to coffee centuries earlier. There are many stories about the history of where coffee was first found and prepared for human consumption. Although coffee was prepared and brewed many different ways through the centuries, it still remained the coffee coming from Africa and the surrounding area. Around 1720, coffee was taken to places around the world to be grown. The soil and climate changed the character of the bean creating a different bean like the Bourbon, etc. Beans were flavored with spices from the beginning. However, it was not until coffee had come to America that it was sold as a pre-flavored, a mixed blend of beans or as decaffeinated coffee by different brand names. Also, brand named freeze-dried coffee could now be brewed by simply pouring hot water over the crystals from a stainless steel tea kettle. Tomorrow, a brief look at coffee makers during this same time.
