This 10 cup kettle is great for any use you want, small amount or large amount of water. Fills easily, just lift the kettle off the base, open top lid and fill with water. I thought I would write about this Hamilton Beach stainless steel red kettle because it is my favorite. Number one reason is because it is stainless steel. Stainless steel is the only metal that does not leach particles into your water, tea or coffee. This ten cup is a great size. When you want a lot of hot water, it can handle it. However, you can fill it as little as you need and it will heat it faster than a microwave… And, it is safer than a stove top tea kettle – no hot burner (the element is concealed in bottom of kettle) and no boiling dry (the tea kettle has an automatic shut off when the water gets close to empty).
When you fill this electric kettle with water there is a water level window that tells you how many cups are in the kettle so you can fill it to just the amount you want. The opening at the top is large enough to get water into the kettle with ease. The handle has a grooved part on the underside that creates a comfortable balance when you pick up the kettle. The spout is a non-drip spout making it spill free. It also has a lighted on and off switch right under the water level window. Last, but for me, not least is its color. I love bright colors in my kitchen. They perk me up “no pun intended here” while I’m cooking or working in the kitchen. Oh yes, the base of this Hamilton Beach 10 cup stainless steel kettle keeps the cord inside when not in use and leaves the counter uncluttered.
What Happened to Coffee in America?
What happened to coffee in America was the result of what happened to coffee centuries earlier. There are many stories about the history of where coffee was first found and prepared for human consumption. Although coffee was prepared and brewed many different ways through the centuries, it still remained the coffee coming from Africa and the surrounding area. Around 1720, coffee was taken to places around the world to be grown. The soil and climate changed the character of the bean creating a different bean like the Bourbon, etc. Beans were flavored with spices from the beginning. However, it was not until coffee had come to America that it was sold as a pre-flavored, a mixed blend of beans or as decaffeinated coffee by different brand names.
