Cecilware Coffee Station Automatic Coffee Brewer

This week, I have been writing about commercial products. The word commercial scares some as they think of extremely large coffee makers. While, in fact, some commercial coffee makers are about the same size as some coffee makers that people use in their home every day.

This Cecilware coffee station is an automatic coffee brewer that brews into a 12 cup capacity glass carafe or insulated carafe. The water automatically refills a polysulfone water tank that keeps liming to a minimum. A high temperature limit control automatically turns the heater off if the brewer runs dry or overheats. After filling coffee filter with coffee toggle the brew switch on; when the brew light indicator illuminates the brewer is ready to brew the coffee. This high performance coffee maker takes only 3½ minutes with instant recovery for another batch of coffee to be brewed. This coffee brew station also has an extra burner that can be switched to warm to keep the coffee at an ambient temperature.

This brew station by Cecilware is made of stainless steel construction, is easy to service and the components are easily accessible through the top. A .25 inch water line with a minimum of 30 psi (pounds per square inch of pressure) is required. The brew station itself weighs a little less than 28 pounds. The glass decanters are sold separately in cases of 3 or 6 decanters. Each case offers either brown handles for regular or orange handles for decaf. A few coffee filters come with the coffee brewer. More filters are also sold separately, but we sell them at a discount when buying a brew station.

This brew station is perfect for a busy office, small warehouse or parts store where workers can stop and fill there cup or mug. Create a Coffee Station for your workers who are on the go by adding a 1.9 quart vacuum insulated decanter with brew through lid. The number for the regular coffee insulated decanter is SS-1.9 LR and for decaffeinated coffee SS-1.9 DR.

Monday Fireside Chat

I have been writing about the history of companies that make coffee making appliances and electric kettles. I think I have covered most of the companies still making coffee-making appliances for the home.

For the rest of this week, I have decided to write about commercial products. The word commercial scares some as they think of extremely large coffee makers. While, in fact, some commercial coffee makers are about the same size as some coffee makers that people use in their home every day. Commercial coffee makers are made for constant use day in and day out. Most are made entirely of stainless steel.

Some Bunn coffee makers are made for home or office use, which makes them a commercial product. Many like the way Bunn because it keeps the water heated for a short brewing time. They say that the preheated water makes a better tasting coffee.

Bunn-o-Matic Corporation

George Bunn, the founder of the Bunn-o-Matic Corporation. Bunn-o-Matic may be an international powerhouse of a company today, but it has come a long way from its humble beginnings back in the 1950′s. In 1957, George Bunn invented the first fluted coffee filter. The fluted filter gave the filter enough body to stand on its own, and prevents spillage of grounds.

In 1963, the Bunn-o-Matic Corporation developed the very first automatic drip coffee maker for commercial use. Later, in 1972, Bunn continued with its coffee maker innovation and introduced the first commercial quality automatic drip maker for household use.

The Bunn Corporation introduced the world’s first fresh brewed ice tea maker in 1978. Bunn has on its impressive list of accomplishments:
The first hot and cold water control system, built for restaurant use.
Precision control of the water heating process
Built some of the beverage industries most excellent hardware, including America’s first frozen drink system, and other juice dispensing machines.

Since then, Bunn has continued to innovate in the hot and cold beverage sector with designs of coffee makers that continue to increase in efficiency until this day.

Grindmaster PrecisionBrew Barista Series Urn

The Grindmaster PrecisionBrew Technology gives the user complete control over the brew cycle, contact time, and brew temperature. These urns are made to order; therefore, they vary in price and are not an in stock item. However, when ordered, they will be ready to ship in about 5 days.

Model PB-8113 is a 3 gallon size urn that has a dual wall, is air insulated and has an electro-polished liner that holds coffee between 180°F and 185°F. The urn uses fresh water for brewing that is heated in a coiled, nickel-plated, copper heat exchange tube inside the urn. As water passes through the heat exchanger coil it is heated to optimum brew temperature. Thus, the brew temperature varies less than 5ºF throughout spay over process. An automatic coffee agitation thoroughly mixes the brewed coffee immediately after spray over is completed. The electro-polished liners create a smooth surface on coffee liner for easy cleaning. The dual wall urn body is filled with fiberglass insulation creating an energy savings with the minimized heat loss and air-conditioning costs because of the otherwise added heat in the room.

The durable construction of the urn is made by the use of A.I.S.I. type 304, 18-8 stainless steel. The urn also has an automatic refill of water compartment and reheats as needed when the coffee is finished brewing. The fully automatic push button operation makes this pump style urn easy to operate. Simply load brew basket with coffee, align spray arm over basket lid hole and press brew start button. It is even easy to adjust the spray over rate; all it takes is a simple screwdriver adjustment. Thus, there is no awkward changing of parts. An adjustable bypass valve on spray arm enables proper coffee extraction even with variable water conditions. A dial thermometer with color-marked brew zone lets you know if you need to adjust the knob on the thermostat, which is on the front of the urn. The four marked positions on the thermostat are: brew, hold, night standby and off.

The model PB 8113E electrical requirements are 120/208 volts 38amps at 8.0 kw 1Phase. This urn is 36 inches high by 26 inches wide by 22 inches deep and weighs 90 pounds. Its shipping weight is 105 pounds.
